I’ve made these Phoenix Ash bottles. The text around the label reads: “EX CINERIBVS RESVRGAM”.
On the tiny, yet possible, chance that you would like one of these for yourself, please message me for details.

Lennart Green’s Favourite Story

An Audio Recording I made from Lennart Green’s DVD. Lennart is an expert card manipulator, puzzle enthusiast and wonderful story teller.

A Teacher Story

Once upon a time, there was an English Teacher name Mr Cammish. He was a brilliantly odd man with a small mustache who would often sit in the dark, at the back of the room, chewing on a baguette. He would often play along to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven” on his Guitar and Stereo System that he kept in the room. He would often lock his classroom door to get changed into Cricket gear, and then hop out the window on a chair to play the game. Once he forgot to place the chair back on the table by the window and struggled to get back into the room…

One day, the Headteacher offered Mr Cammish lots of money to retire from his position and Cammish - although reluctant at first - took the money and left, apologising that he was unable to see us through to our final year at school. It was only a matter of months before his speakers and guitar were removed - his whiteboard and pens torn down to be replaced with an interactive computerised whiteboard.

This is not the story of a man who took the money and ran. It is the story of a school who, in their bid to appear more technology advanced, wanted to kit out every classroom with computerised interactive whiteboards. But that, in the most obvious of realities, is no substitute for good teaching. And by good teaching, I mean good darkly drawn curtains, good showings of “A Muppet’s Christmas Carol” at Christmas, and most of all, good storytelling.

A presentation of influence using playing cards. A old video here, but good nonetheless. Watch in HD, it looks better!

It’s Only A Theory…

Just so everyone is clear, “Theory” does not mean “Guess”. Look in any good dictionary to find:

“A coherent statement or set of ideas that explains observed facts or phenomena, or which sets out the laws and principles of something known or observed; a hypothesis confirmed by observation, experiment etc.”

So, we are setting out the principles of something known or observed. We are not talking about simple “assumptions”, but instead they are “confirmed by observation”.
So don’t say, “It’s only a theory,” - you’re just being stupid.

A new video of mine, produced in collaboration with Adam Randall. He tells some great stories. You’d better watch in HD too; or evil will befall you! (Apparently.)
